The nether will be reset on January 1st 2016.  At the beginning of the map, it was said that the nether would reset monthly, but we haven't been on top of that.  With that said, on January 1st 2016, the nether will be refreshed with a brand new seed.  Glowstone, netherbrick, quartz, and all the other nether-related things will be back in an abundant supply.  Of course, this means that builds and items/chests in the nether will be removed as well.  Please clear your things out of the nether over the next couple weeks, or else it will be lost forever and staff can't get it back for you. 

After this reset, the next reset will be March 1st 2016 (unless 1.9 comes out, then it might be sooner). 

The nether has been reset with a new seed and now has PvP nether-wide.
-A small area around spawn's nether portal (in the nether) will be protected.
-When you enter the nether, take some time to read the rules board there!


Updated the Jobs plugin.
-Type /jobs gtop to see the top levels regardless of job.


Added the GriefPrevention plugin, only using the pvp and chat aspects, NOT the land claiming.
-Can only log in once every 30 seconds.
-Death messages from a specific player only show once every 2 minutes.
-Spam blocker will ban offenders. If you feel you were wrongly banned for spam, please post an appeal on the forums.

-THE FOLLOWING PVP RELATED BULLETS ARE FOR NETHER PVP AND THE FEW PVP ARENAS IN THE OVERWORLD.
-Players with no items cannot be harmed by PvP means.
-When hit with PvP damage, players are put into combat mode for 15 seconds(since last PvP damage).
-While in combat mode, items cannot be dropped.
-While in combat mode, logging out kills the player.
-While in combat mode, the commands /home and /spawn are blocked.

-Known issue: The auto-help for "how do I claim land" leads to the wrong land claiming videos(for our server).
-Known issue: While IP addresses are blocked by the spamblocker, URLs are not (i.e. dreamcraft.org isn't blocked but 123.4.567.8 is).
-Known issue: When a player respawns, the text makes it seem like there is PvP in the overworld. To be clear, PvP is only in the nether, as well as a few PvP arenas in the overworld.

On September 1st, the nether will be reset with a new seed.
The reset will also change the nether into a global PvP area.
Now when you're in the nether, you'll have to watch for minecraft's hardest mobs...each other!
Team up with friends, hunt for unsuspecting victims, or use the nether for pvp arenas.

Changes on September 1st...

-New nether seed.
-Global PvP in the nether.
-A small area around spawn's nether portal (in the nether) will be protected.
-We will not refund items lost in nether griefing. Everything in the nether is free game, including structures.
-We will not refund items lost in PvP. If you can't afford to lose it...don't bring it with you!!
-Harassing members is very against the rules. No ganging up around the spawn nether portal for cheap kills, and no harassing through chat.

(Thanks isokitten for the suggestion!) Added a plugin to make mob spawning more common, because normal mob spawning is weird. This plugin limits the amount of mobs that spawn in chunks, as well as limits the amount of farming mobs that can be bred in a chunk.

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW:
-New mob spawns should be more plentiful.
-Mob grinders/exp farms will probably see a decrease in functionality.
-The more players in an area, the more mobs will spawn! Go hunting with friends!
-Animal mob farms will need to be wider to allow for breeding. Only 30 animals are allowed to be in a chunk.
-If more than 30 animals are in a chunk and you attempt to breed them, THE ANIMALS WILL CONSUME THE ITEM AND WON'T PRODUCE OFFSPRING.
-This "overbreeding" will still give experience though.


JOBS: SLAYER
Exp went down and payouts went up. Still trying to make this a viable job, and the mob spawning update, paired with this change, should definitely help.


Also...the ability to sit on stairs("chairs") has been added. All you need is a stair block to sit on. You can design it however you'd like. To sit on chairs, get close to the chair(within 2 blocks) and right click it WITH NOTHING IN YOUR HAND. Press shift(crouch key) to get off the chair.

Rejoice, fellow Dreamcrafters! The event that has sapped you of your money and jobs levels over the past 6 days is over. Anyone that logged in and joined a job helped shape the changes to balance out the Jobs and make our money, called REM, actually usable.
