[Custom Plugin] MeltDown
MeltDown allows you to place armor, tools, and certain items into a furnace to recover useful materials from them.
For tools and armor, the amount returned depends on the item’s remaining durability. A fully repaired item gives the full listed amount, while damaged items return less. Heavily damaged items may return very little or nothing.
Important Notes:
- Player-crafted tools and armor cannot be melted down.
- There is no visible tag or warning on crafted items.
- If you try to melt down a player-crafted item, the furnace will not process it.
- Naturally found, looted, traded, mob-dropped, or otherwise untagged items can still be melted down.
- Tool and armor outputs are based on durability and are rounded down to the nearest whole item.
How durability affects output:
The listed amount is the maximum possible output. Final Output = Maximum Output × Remaining Durability Percentage
Examples:
- A fully repaired Iron Pickaxe gives 3 Iron Ingots.
- An Iron Pickaxe at 50% durability gives 1 Iron Ingot.
- An Iron Pickaxe at 75% durability gives 2 Iron Ingots.
- An Iron Shovel at 50% durability gives nothing.
- An Iron Shovel with only 1 durability left gives nothing.
Items that can be melted down:
Netherite anything -> up to 1 netherite ingot
Diamond/Iron/Gold armor & tools -> equivalent crafting recipe amounts
Chain -> 11 Iron Nuggets
Poisonous Potato -> 1 Charcoal
Rotten Flesh -> 1 Leather
Iron Door -> 2 Iron Ingots
Bucket -> 3 Iron Ingots
Minecart -> 5 Iron Ingots
Iron Trapdoor -> 4 Iron Ingots
Iron Bars -> 3 Iron Nuggets
Shears -> up to 2 Iron Ingots
Crafting Recipes:
Charcoal + Gravel + Sand -> 1 Gunpowder
